Garden To Do List for January

by Rebecca Collins 08 Jan 2024

Wondering what needs completing in your garden in January 2024?

Although the weather may seem against you in January there is still lot's of jobs that can be completed in your garden.

Remove Christmas Tree

Still got your real Christmas Tree up? There are many things you can with the tree including adding the tree needles to your compost heap or place them in small fabric bags to create a fragrant sachet. These are wonderful in the back of a wardrobe or drawers. The tree itself can be given to a number of charities.

Plan out your Garden

In our previous blog post you can see the best months to plant each of your crops. Make a note of these times in your diary so that you ensure optimal growth.

Prepare for Spring

To get prepared for spring now is the perfect time to clean pots and greenhouses. By ensuring all algae, moss and grime has been removed from your greenhouse you are allowing for more light to enter.

Feed the Birds

During winter garden birds require a little extra to keep warm. You can provide birds with food that is high in fat along with a grain mix or nuts to ensure a balanced diet.

We wish you all the best for January and are looking to forward to the warmer months so that we can hopefully enjoy our gardens some more!
