Happy New Year and welcome to 2024!

Still considering what your new resolution is going to be? Will 2024 be the year you take up gardening?

If gardening is a new hobby you are considering, we have put together a list of all the benefits for you.

  1. Boost your immune system: The exposure to dirt and plants can have a positive impact on your immune system to help you fight illness!
  2. Improve physical wellbeing: With a wide range of activities to be completed in the garden you will carry out a range of movements. Three hours of moderate gardening could be equal to a 1 hour gym session.
  3. Increase in Vitamin D: Spending time outside will improve your levels of Vitamin D.
  4. Reduce your impact on the environment: By growing your own fruit, vegetables and flowers you reduce the impact of the travel of shop brought alternatives.
  5. Eat healthier: You can ensure you are eating fruit and vegetables free from pesticides and other additives when you are growing your own.

We hope with this list of benefits you may consider trying gardening for yourself. Whilst it may be seem daunting at first, the best thing to do is try.
